Balz Bachmann is a composer, producer and musician who has been composing music for international feature films, documentaries, theater, art and television for over 20 years. He has written film music for renowned directors such as Jasmila Žbanić, Dani Levy and Academy Award winner Xavier Koller. His music has been awarded several prizes, including the Locarno International Film Festival Film Music Prize, the Swiss Film Music Prize and the German Documentary Film Music Prize. In addition to his work as a composer, he also works as a music producer and teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts. As a musician, Balz Bachmann has worked with numerous artists of various genres and accompanied the singer Sophie Hunger on her tours. His style includes electro-acoustic, orchestral and experimental compositions, with the aim of finding an appropriate musical language for each project. He lives and works in Zurich and is a member of both the European and the Swiss Film Academy.
